Our newest daycare center in Centreville, VA opened in 2024.
At HORIZON CHILD DEVELOPMENT, School for Early Learning, we believe that learning should be fun! Our daycare early childhood education programs encourage children to grow and flourish in mind, body and spirit through creativity, curiosity, and exploration in a setting that is safe and nurturing.
Our state-of-the-art daycare center is designed to provide a comfortable and stimulating atmosphere for children six weeks to twelve years old. Our experienced and dedicated teachers create a supportive and positive environment while providing individual attention and support to each child, helping them to reach their full potential.
We offer a variety of programs for your child's needs including full-time and part-time daycare for infants, toddlers and preschoolers as well as before and after-school programs and summer camp
for children ages five to twelve.
Our daycare center classrooms are furnished with age-appropriate toys, books, games and hands on activities. Children will enjoy our large outdoor play areas in a beautiful natural setting. Tuition includes our nutritious meal program - breakfast, hot lunch, afternoon snack and a to go snack at the end of the day.
Programs
Infant and Toddler
The primary care system used in our infant classroom allows your child to have the same caregiver each day. This familiarity helps to nurture and develop a sense of trust that is essential for healthy growth and development.
Our daycare center toddler classroom provides your child with early language development using an interactive reading system that introduces the whole language approach, including the program "Your Baby Can Read". This multi-sensory technique uses combinations of sight and sound allowing your child to learn naturally, in a setting of smiles and laughter with fun-filled activities.
Children learn best through play, which is why we provide a wide variety of activities that encourage creativity and imagination. Our play areas are designed to be both safe and stimulating, allowing your child to explore and
discover in a fun and secure environment.
Two Year Old
Our daycare two-year old classroom provides a more advanced and structed learning environment with lesson plans designed to engage children in language arts, discovery science, early math skills, art, music, dance and
fine and gross motor skills.
Exciting programs like the "Theme of the Month", Things I Can Do, My Neighborhood, The Seasons of the Year, and Circle Time encourage language development and discovery. ABC's, colors, numbers, shapes, days of the week
and vocabulary are strengthened through
nursery rhymes and songs and
the introduction of basic Spanish words.
Community skills are developed through sharing and taking turns, leaning to use our words to solve problems, and developing self-calming skills. Learning to drink from a regular cup and potty-training are started.
A Daily Child Report is provided,
summarizing your child’s day and activities.
Preschool
Our daycare center Preschool Program is a year-round
developmental program for children three years old.

them emotionally, socially and academically
for the transition to kindergarten.
